A Unique, Country Retreat
Hosts Marilyn and Ian Wightman welcome you to their home in the quiet countryside. With the family gone, part of the expansive family home has been converted into a private, self-contained Garden Stay. Marilyn and Ian have operated the retail garden nursery for over 15 years. Marilyn is a herbalist and exponent on herb cultivation. Ian is a NZ native tree expert and keen trout fisherman.

The tranquil, Garden Stay is part of the Fragrant Garden’s nursery complex and is nestled on the edge of a large, park-like herb garden. The Stay consists of three bedrooms with one queen-size bed and four single beds. Full kitchen facilities adjoin the roomy lounge and dining area.

The Garden Stay has a number of attractive advantages over other, more standard types of accomodation:

Feilding is a quiet, rural New Zealand town. Our nursery complex is on the northern edge of the township. The house is surrounded by trees and nestles on the edge of the large, park –like, herb garden. There are aspects of the garden from the house and the large verandah and patio are great places to just sit and enjoy the plants, the scents and the birds.

The accommodation is separate from the main house and is completely private. There are three bedrooms. One has a queen size bed the other two have twin single beds. There are full kitchen facilities that include oven, micro-wave, fridge-freezer and electric frypan. The kitchen adjoins a roomy lounge and dining area. Radio, TV and DVD.

Guests have the option of a continental breakfast delivered to the door. If preferred, a packaged, self- serving option, is available the night before. This allows guests to breakfast when they are ready. Pre-booked dinner is available if requested.
It is a short five minute trip to shops, supermarkets and cafes for those who still need civilisation.
